Terms & Conditions
20 Sept 2023
When booking a child onto a paid-for class or camp with Pure Imagination Company you are automatically agreeing to these terms and conditions. This is an agreement between the Pure Imagination Company, trading name of The Taylor-Moss Company Ltd., and includes agreement with any coinciding policies like our Code of Conduct, Class Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
Our Terms and Conditions apply to all classes, workshops, masterclasses and school holiday camps. Parents/Guardians are required to agree to the Terms and Conditions when they fill out our registration form.
Children (& parents/guardians) must be aware of & adhere to the Class Rules & Code of Conduct (below).
Enrolment
-
Only a legal parent or carer can enrol a child into any of our services.
-
To enrol, you must have completed the registration form and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
-
All new students are welcome to taster session in either one of our regular Monday or Wednesday classes.
-
Please note that booking a trial does not guarantee a place for enrolment immediately and is subject to class numbers.
-
Enrolment is always at the discretion of Pure Imagination Company and we reserve the right to deny or cancel attendance or enrolment to our classes or clubs at any time.
Fees and Payment
-
Taster sessions are totally free and will not be charged in hindsight if you choose not to enrol after a taster session. Each session following the taster session is payable.
-
Following a free taster, you must pay for the remainder of the month before your next class if you decide to enrol. If you decide you do not want to continue with classes after your first paid session, we will refund the remainder of the month to you.
-
Fees are calculated at £6.50 per lesson, annually, with school holidays removed, to give a regular static amount for ease of regular payment. Currently (2023) fees stand at £21.50 per month.
-
Class fees going forward for enrolled children are due monthly, in advance, on the 1st day of each month.
-
Without a reliable payment structure (like monthly payments) we cannot forecast budgets for hall hire or future showcase funds or be able to ensure classes continue long term. Please chat to your coach if you have any questions about payment terms or need more flexibility.
-
Without payment a place in any class or camp is provisional.
-
Fees are due on a monthly rolling basis, so participants will continue to be enrolled with us until we receive notice that you no longer wish to participate in our classes.
-
If a class is full, we will put children on a waiting list, please let us know as soon as possible if you no longer want to be on the waiting list.
-
Important: Pure Imagination Company is a brand name: the registered business name is The Taylor-Moss Company Ltd. This is the name you will see on invoices and payments. The Director of The Taylor-Moss Company is business owner and coach Laura Taylor. The registered office address is 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE and the company registration number is 15082524. Attire and Belongings
-
Classes are active and involve a lot of movement like dance and physical drama games. Please ensure children have comfortable footwear and clothes that allow them to move easily.
-
We currently don’t have a uniform (we are working on it 😊) so children are encouraged to wear anything they are comfortable singing, dancing and acting in. Uniform will be optional – it is more important to be on time and be ready to learn.
-
For showcases, unless otherwise specified, please could children wear a black top and black bottoms of any sort, for consistency. If you don’t have these – let us know – we probably have spares in all sizes.
-
We are not responsible for personal belongings and are not liable for loss, damage or theft of personal belongings brought along to class.
-
Pure Imagination Staff and Volunteers are liable for any damages during class time only when the child is in our care following registration until the time the lesson ends.
Class Rules and Code of Conduct
-
By enrolling into a class, camp or attending a free taster session you are automatically agreeing to the Code of Conduct set out for acceptable behaviour during classes.
-
Children must have a genuine interest in drama, music or performance to attend our classes and to enrol in our holiday clubs. We do not offer holiday camps as a general childcare service so children must come ready to listen and learn.
-
There will be elements of the classes the children may really enjoy and others they may not enjoy so much. Children should apply enthusiasm to all activities because they are all important for various reasons and contribute to learning sold skills and gaining real confidence in the arts in the long-term.
-
When approaching behaviour management, we use a 3-tier policy (see the Class Code of Conduct for details. We really value the help and support of parents/guardians in making children aware of the rules and what is expected of them, and also supporting the coach if we need to address any disruptive behaviours.
-
If we cancel a child’s enrolment, we will issue a refund for the remaining classes paid in advance that month.
-
Parents and Carers are not permitted to take photographs or videos in classes or showcases of any child you do not have parental responsibility for. You need permission from the coach to film or photograph the class. Ignoring this could but children at risk.
Health, Illness and Emergencies
-
Please ensure we have the correct emergency contact details for you and that you have saved the contact details for the coach supervising your child’s class/camp. Please ensure you are contactable on the number provided in case of emergency.
-
We ask that you ensure participants are fit and well enough to join in and if you have any concerns, you are to seek medical advice before they enrol or continue to come to classes.
-
We rely on parents and carers to be transparent and honest with the information they provide in the sign-up forms. Please disclose all relevant information because it can put the child in danger, particularly with any health conditions or injuries.
-
All medical conditions, injuries and concerns must be disclosed in writing, as well as any future updates to this information.
-
Medication should ideally be taken by a student themselves or administered before/after class if possible. If they need to take medication while in our care (for example during a day-camp) you must ensure you have discussed it with us and filled out a medication form. With notice, we can assist with storing it but it must be signed in and out of classes and agreed with the coach supervising the lesson.
-
Medication you would like us to keep on hand, that we may have to administer in the case of an emergency, must be agreed with the coach and signed in and out.
-
Please do not allow a child to attend classes if they have any symptoms of contagious illness (i.e., chicken pox) or COVID19, or are showing positive for COVID on a test without symptoms. This is to protect the group that attend and, also, we are in an industry where our voices are our livelihood and covid can cause a lot of time out form work for singers, actors and dancers.
-
If your contact details ever change, please notify us as soon as possible, before the next class/camp your child will be attending.
Refunds and Cancellations
-
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for missed classes. Without a reliable payment structure (like enrolment with monthly payments) we cannot forecast for things like hall hire or future showcase budgets. Our aim is to offer lessons for the long term, to nurture talent and to teach performance skills. Please chat to your coach if you have any questions about payment terms or need to discuss a little flexibility.
-
We encourage the commitment to attending as regularly as possible. We are happy to offer an alternative class as an option if a class is missed, providing we have the capacity.
-
For our holiday workshops, once a child is registered and a payment has been made, cancellations need to be made in writing (via email) with seven days’ notice before the camp start date, to cancel. This should provide us with adequate time to try and fill the space.
-
We do not give refunds for missed days or hours during our holiday camps. Camps which run for longer than one day are calculated as one session, and not into separate days or sessions. This allows us to protect the business and any staff we may have employed based on the numbers we forecasted. Letting people down who rely on us financially is the last thing we want to do. Please chat to us of you have an issue as if we can help, we will always endeavour to.
-
Any refunds will be made within 30 days of the agree refund. We understand this can be inconvenient so we will always issue refunds quicker if we can.
-
If you pay via card, and you need a refund, please provide us securely with your account number and sort code so that we can do it via bank transfer (BACS) back to your account. We cannot refund directly back to a credit card on the facility we use, only to a UK bank account. We will eventually be able to do this but cannot currently.
-
With regards to class content, we endeavour to stick to our lesson plans, particularly with holiday camps and masterclasses, but we reserve the right to change any part of the content advertised should we need to at the time. Content is designed with learning in mind, not strictly entertainment (despite us always wanting to make it as fun as possible). In the event of any changes to our class content, cancellations of special guests or coach sickness, Pure Imagination Company will not be liable to refund any fees or deposits. If we need to cancel an entire masterclass or class we will of course refund the full amount, amend the next payment or hold it as a credit for your next class.
Additional Needs Provisions
-
We need to be able to keep children safe when in our care and we will do all within our resources to provide an accessible, inclusive environment. We may need to work with parents or carers and any relevant professionals to ensure a child is safe and comfortable with us. This could involve requesting that a child does not stay with us unsupervised and that a parent or carer stays to help.
-
It is always best to discuss any needs with us but if we cannot accommodate your child’s needs for any reason, we will issue a full refund.
-
Please disclose any necessary details and be transparent as this could affect future insurance or claims you could have.

-
We collect and store personal and special date in accordance with the UK-General Data Protection Regulations.

Pure Imagination Company
Class Code of Conduct

Everyone needs to follow the Class Code of Conduct to make sure classes are fun, safe and that children can learn effectively. This code applies to everyone as working as a team and respecting one another is important.

The role of parents and carers: We really appreciate the support of parents and carers with our Class Code of Conduct. We see parents and carers as essential in encouraging positive behaviour and we will always inform and involve parents as appropriate and we rely on your help.
Could parents/carers please either read this to their child or ask their child to read it if they are at an age where they can do that independently.
The Class Code of Conduct is:
-
Good conduct in class and during performances is essential at all times. From the moment you enter the class please be quiet and listen carefully to the class coach so that you know what you are doing.
-
Please listen at all times, for the smooth running of the class and for your own safety. No talking or shouting out, please raise your hand to talk. The other children cannot hear the coach if the room is too noisy.
-
Parents – please drop the children at the door (unless you are helping settle a younger child on a trial). You are welcome to come in 5mins before the end of the class but in general we will have open sessions and regular showcases where you can see all the amazing things we have been working on when they’re nice and polished.
-
Children should join in effectively and listen to all instructions before starting a task. We tell children what to do, and we know they get excited, but it is important that children listen to the part where we tell them how to do it.
-
Please do not disrupt the class or other students. Distracting others means they are not getting the most out of the class. We will give you time at the end of the lesson to chat with your friends before you leave.
-
Understand that the other children attending classes at Pure Imagination Company are not your competition – they are your performing arts family. Never say anything that may break their confidence or make them feel insecure about their ideas or performing abilities. respect your classmates by being quiet and still when watching other children’s work and never make fun of anyone’s work.
-
Respect the premises we hire – accidents happen but the buildings and contents must be treated with respect at all times.
-
Be helpful and have good manners.
-
Take any casting decisions well – we know this is hard for the younger ones (and sometimes parents), but not everyone can get the part they want every time. We will provide many opportunities to shine (which is why we take a Showcase approach to performances, as it’s more fair and varied). No part is a bad part – we need everyone to put on a performance and we cannot do this is you aren’t’ being positive and on board.
-
Talk to your coach about anything that worries or concerns you.
-
Try your hardest and be willing to perform songs and material that is new to you or that isn’t your favourite. We have to do a bit of everything – that’s how it works and your coach will often see a talent in you or a part that would suit you that you don’t know about yet.
-
Do not leave without your adult or without us seeing your adult. If they are ever delayed, stay with us so that we can ensure your safety. For the older children, if your parent allows you to walk home, we need a consent form from them – let us know if you need one.
You should not ever:
-
Be disrespectful to anyone or behave in a way that could be intimidating or is abusive.
-
Bully other people (online or offline, connected to Pure Imagination Company’s activities or not, we have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying within our classes and the wider community).
-
Distract the class and spoil the experience for others.
-
Talk negatively about yourself or your abilities.
In addition, just to help classes flow easier, please could everyone:
-
Try to use the toilet before the lesson so that you don’t have to miss any of the class, it’s only an hour. If you do need the toilet, make sure the coach knows where you are going.
-
Remember only one child is allowed at a time in the toilet cubicles.
-
Please put your coats, bags and any other belongings where nobody can trip over them.
-
No eating while classes are in session.
-
Please bring a drink of water and put it on the water table, ready for when you need during water breaks.
-
Leave the drama room as you found it, take any rubbish with you or find a bin.

What happens if I do not follow the Class Code of conduct?
This code of behaviour is part of our process for making sure everyone who takes part in our activities is safe, comfortable and gets the experience/learning journey they are paying for. It has to be followed but if you slip-up, the process is:

Minor or first-time incident: If you behave in a way that doesn’t follow our behaviour code, our staff or volunteers will remind you about it and ask you to change your behaviour. This gives you the chance to think and to plan how you could behave differently, with support from your coach if you need it.

Formal warning: If you continue not to follow the code of conduct after your first reminder, or if your behaviour is more serious, you will be given a formal warning by the person running your activity. They will make a record about what happened and inform your parents or carers if it is appropriate. They will also talk with you about what happened and agree what support you need to improve your behaviour in the future. We might also decide that further steps should be taken, such as restricting you from taking part in some activities.

Final warning: If the support we have put in place isn’t helping you to change your behaviour, we might need to give you a final warning. Again, this will be recorded and we’ll inform your parents or carers as appropriate. At this point, we might need to talk with you and your parents/carers about whether this is the right club for you or if there is additional support that may be needed outside of classes.

We really care that our classes are a fun and effective so we are really thankful for your help and support with this.

Pure Imagination Company shares in the NSPCC’S belief that children and young people should never experience abuse of any kind. We recognise our responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them. Child welfare comes first in decisions we take and we know that working in partnership with children, young people, their parents, carers and other agencies is essential in promoting young people’s welfare. All children, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation have an equal right to protection from all types of harm or abuse.
Some children are additionally vulnerable because of the impact of previous experiences, their level of dependency or understanding, communication needs or other issues. Extra safeguards may be needed to keep children who are additionally vulnerable safe from abuse.
